Guides
Day-by-day itinerary*:
Day 1: "Gold Rush" and Wildlife
Welcome! Meeting participants between 10-11am and embarking on fascinating journey along gold prospector route. Visit open-air museum, then hike to waterfalls through Rainforest — the northernmost in the world. At rescued animal sanctuary, meet musk oxen, bears, moose and other Alaskan fauna representatives. All were rescued under various circumstances and now live in conditions closely approximating their natural habitat. Our road runs along scenic bay regularly featured in America's most beautiful roads. With luck, spot beluga whales from minibus windows! Spending first two nights in comfortable glamping yurts in Seward.
Day 2: Fjord and Abandoned Fort Mysteries
Today exploring abandoned WWII fort perched on cliffs of scenic fjord. Peek inside and enjoy ocean coastline beauty!
Day 3: Fjord Cruise, Calving Glaciers and Whale Photography
Prepare for unforgettable spectacle: winding fjord shores and glaciers calving into ocean will amaze you! Snow-white peaks and lush greenery create stunning contrast, while sea otters, seals, dolphins and whales ignore us, allowing observation, sometimes even accompanying our vessel. Evening transfer to base for remaining nights. Our glamping nestled cozily in forest clearing beside Knik River.
Day 4: Icebergs, History, and Sled Dogs
Today departing to Knik Glacier on monster truck, then motorboat across lake among majestic icebergs. Toward evening, meeting mushers and their amazing sled dogs. These people and their dogs — true heroes of Alaskan wilderness! Listening to captivating multi-day expedition stories, learning about famous Iditarod race where dogs and mushers overcome challenging conditions, demonstrating incredible courage and team spirit. This encounter gifts not only inspiration but deep respect for Alaska traditions.
Day 5: Denali and Other Alaskan Mountains
Dream of seeing North America's highest mountain? We'll drive to location with best viewing chance. Choice here — airplane flight closer to Denali with landing on eternal snow-covered high-altitude glacier**, or educational motorboat ride**, or additional free time strolling galleries of famous hippie and climber town where mayor is cat. Actually — female cat)) Same day, visiting abandoned gold prospector village picturesquely located in high country, and stopping at alpine lake.
Day 6: Glacier Walk and Ice Climbing
Want to know why Alaska ice is blue and how old glaciers are? Our experienced guides will provide all necessary glacier walk equipment and answer all questions. Trying ice climbing — unique experience many seek us out for! We're happy to include this so your Alaska introduction becomes even more complete! Evening sauna with birch switches and magnificent mountain views awaits — perfect reward for active day.
