Day-by-day itinerary*:

March 7

We meet in Anchorage at 10 AM to see the start of the famous Iditarod dog race. That very "toughest race" about which many films and the full-length cartoon "Balto" have been made. Mushers race past spectators, and if you choose the right spot (which we always do) – you can watch them up close. The race start is only part of it: the winter festival in Anchorage is one of the most interesting moments of winter Alaska: caribou run, fur auction, national local games, and many other interesting events that happen at this time. At this moment everything comes alive: residents and tourists unexpectedly appear on the streets. Snow sculpture contests and various competitions take place. And yes – this is that rare moment when all Alaskans show off their fur coats and fur hats. In the evening – check-in to the house and festive dinner.

March 8

We will visit one of the sled dog kennels. We'll learn first-hand about the life of a musher, ride in a sled, and play with puppies. Then we'll walk through the snow-covered forest to a frozen waterfall. And... we'll go ice skating on a frozen lake! In the evening, after dinner – we hunt for the Northern Lights. How? Over a glass of wine, pleasant conversation, and in front of huge panoramic windows of the house. In addition, we monitor several other locations. And if the Lights are better visible from another point – we'll invite you to go with us on a photo hunt.

March 9

This day is perhaps the most unique. Only two companies offer a trip to this frozen lake with icebergs. And we are one of them! The snowmobile start begins right from our house. We'll see three(!) glaciers converging together, frozen waterfalls, whimsically shaped icebergs, and if we're lucky – an ice cave too! In the evening upon return – a hot sauna and home-cooked dinner await us at the Adventurer's Refuge – our base and our home. By the way about the Northern Lights – this is one of the best observation points, so we continue hunting for them from here too!

March 10

The famous Matanuska Glacier is beautiful both in winter and summer. We'll see whimsical ice formations creating tunnels, caves, and ice walls. It's only possible to look so deep into the glacier's interior in winter! And only with our guide – can you go deeper into the glacier and try ice climbing. Of course – with safety equipment, ice axes, crampons, and all necessary gear. A new experience to add to your memories!) In the evening, as always – we'll return to the warm house and a delicious dinner.

March 11

Alaska's premier ski resort. A great variety of trails and short lift lines will appeal to experienced skiers and snowboarders. And for those who have never tried it – this is the perfect opportunity to learn alpine skiing with our guide. Option for adults (18+): a day at the spa complex instead of alpine skiing, and a walk through the snow-covered forest. Another option – combine both (ask us for details)

March 12

We go to the highlands to a gold miners' village – an open-air museum. In winter, you can only get here on cross-country skis or snowshoes! The route is not difficult at all, so even if you have no experience – everything will work out! During the day, we'll build a snow cave and go sledding.

March 13

Check-out, and cross-country skiing. We'll ride on a well-prepared trail with ocean views. Suitable for any level and even for those without experience. Transfer to the city, and to Anchorage airport around 6 PM.
